KUTUB MINAR
Kutub Minar is one of the oldest Islamic structures in Delhi. Kutub Minar Complex has Kutuba Minar, Quwwt-ul-Islam Mosque, Tomb of Alauddin Khilji and one iron pillar. Many of the structures had been built after destroying earlier Hindu and Jain Temples. Kutub Minar, which means victory of tower, has been constructed by Qutbuddin Aibak to celebrate victory of Muhammad Ghori over Prithvi Raj Chouhan. It i is 72.5 meter high. The Iron Pillar in the complex is much older than these structures and had been shifted here. The surprising fact is that although Iron Pillar is century old it has not as yet rusted.

FIROZSHAH KOTLA
Firozshah Kotla Fort was built by built by Firozshal Tughluq in 1354. The remnants of this structure exist today. The most remarkable fact about this structure that Firozshah got transported an Ashokan Pillar from Topra and got it erected over the fort. This pillar is as yet standing over the fort.

OLD FORT
Older Fort is one of the oldest forts existing in Delhi. It was built by Mughal emperor Humayu and subsequently by Sher Shah.

HUMAYUN’S TOMB
Humayun’s Tomb was commissioned by Bega Begum, wife of Humayun and construction completed in 1572. This complex consists of tombs of several other royals including Hamida Banu Begum, Bega Begum and Dara Shikoh.

RED FORT
Red Fort is huge walled fort build by Shah Jahan. It was commissioned in 1639. The Fort consists of Lahori Gate and Delhi Gate for entry, Naubat Khana (music was performed here), Diwa -e-Aam (public audience hall) , Rang Mahal (place for emperor’s wives) , Khas Mahal (emperor’s apartment) , Diwan-e-Khas (private audience hall) , Moti Masjid (place of worship of Aurangzeb) etc.

JANTAR MANTAR
Jantar Mantar has been built was Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur from 1723 onwards. It consists of several architectural astronomical instruments. A similar structure also exists in Jaipur.

INDIA GATE
India Gate has been built in commmemoration of soldiers who had sacrificed themselves in the first world war. It is situated on the Kartvaya Path in front of Rastrapati Bhawan.

RAJ GHAT
Rah Ghat is the place where Mahatama Gandhi was cremated on 31st January, 1948. A memorial has been built in memory of Mahatama Gandhi there.

LAXMINARAYAN TEMPLE
Laxmi Narayan Temple was constructed by Birlas, an industrial Family in during 1933 to 1939. It is often called Birla Mandir. The temple is spread over three hectares. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Laxmi.

LOTUS TEMPLE
Lotus Temple is a lotus shaped temple located at Delhi built by followers of Bahai’s faith. Because of its unique shape it has become a popular tourist attraction.
