Moscow is largest city of Russia and located on the bank of Moskva River. Moscow was also political centre of Russia till Peter the Great transferred the Capital to Saint Petersburg in 1712. Vladimir Lenin again shifted the Capital to Moscow in 1918.
KREMLIN
The meaning of Kremlin is “fortress within city”. Kremlin once served as royal residence of emperors of Russia. It is now residence of President of Russian Federation. Kremlin includes five palaces, four cathedrals and towers. Grand Kremlin palace was commissioned in 1838 by Czar Nicholas I, which is now residence of President.

LENIN’S MAUSOLEUM
Lenin Mausoleum is located at Red Square in Moscow. The body of Lenin has been preserved and can be seen there. It has been designed by Architect Alexey Shchusev.

ST. BASIL CATHEDRAL
St. Basil Cathedral is an orthodox church located at Red Square. It has been built during 1555 to 1561. The Cathedral has nine domes and unique in its architecture.

IVAN THE GREAT BELL TOWER
Ivan the great bell tower is a church tower located in Kremlin complex. It has a height of 81 meters. It has been built in 1508. It contains 22 bells.

BOLSHOI THEATRE
Bolshoi Theater is an old Opera House in Moscow built in 1776. It has time to time been renovated and continue to be functional.

NOVODEVICHY CONVENT
Novodevichy Convent has been constructed in 1524 in commemoration of conquest of Smolensk. The Bolsheviks closed the convent and converted it into a museum. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

BUNKER 42
Bunker 42 is a cold war museum. It is network of tunnels and rooms constructed 165 feet underground It was built during 1952- 56 for operations in case of nuclear attack.

CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE SAVIOR
The old church had been built in 19th century, which was destroyed by Communist Government 1931. A legislature building was supposed to be built there, which could not be built. After dissolution of Soviet Union, the new cathedral was built during 1995-2000.

MUSEUM OF COSMONAUTICS
Museum of Cosmonautics has been dedicated to space exploration. The museum has several exhibits related with space exploration.
