Alaxandria is located in Egypt. It is a historical city on the bank of the Rive Nile and was founded by Alexander in 331 BC. It is must visit place for travelers having interest in historical sites.
POMPAY’S PILLAR
Pompay’s Pillar is an ancient pillar erected in honor of Roman emperor Diocletian between 298 – 302 AD. It is rare monument in Alexanderia which is standing on its original location.

CATACOMBS OF KOM EL SHOQAFA
Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are underground tombs in Alexandria and considered as one of the wonders of ancient world. Visitors to the tomb used to bring wine and food, but did not want to bring back the objects and used to break them there. This resulted in mounds of shards of terra cotta due to which catacombs were named Kom El Shoqafa. It was discovered in 1900 when a donkey fell into access shaft.

QAITBAY CITADEL
Qaitbay Citadel is a 15th century fortress in Alexandria on Mediterranean Cost. It has been erected on the very site, where once lighthouse of the Alexandria has existed, which was considered one of wonders of the ancient world.

ALAXANDRIA LIBRARY
The great library of Alexandria was one of the largest libraries of the ancient world, because of which it was knows as capital of knowledge and learning. It is supposed to have been founded by Ptolemy I Soter during 3rd century BC. In memory of the great library of Alexandria a new library called Bibilotheca Alexandria has been constructed in Alesandria.

KOM EL DEKA
Kom El Deka is remnants of ancient city of Alexandria. It has Bath Complex, Auditoria and Roman Ampitheatre and Villa of Birds.

ROMAN AMPITHEATRE
Roman Amphitheatre was built in 4th century. It was used for meetings and entertainment.

ABU AL ABBAS AL MURSI MOSQUE
Abu al-Abbas al Mursi was a sufi mystic who died in 1286. This mosque has been built on his shrine in 1307 by funding from a merchant. Mamluk emir of Alexandria rebuilt the mosque in 1477. King Fouad I extensively renovated the mosque in 1934.

SERAPEUM OF ALEXANDRIA
Serapeum of Alexandria was a temple built during reign of Ptolemy III Euergetes in 3rd Century BC. It was closed in 325 AD on the order of Constantine. Remains of Serapeum can still be seen.

MONTAZAH PALACE
Montazah Palace was built in 19th Century by Khedive Abbas II. It overlooks Mediterranean Sea It was used as hunting residence. King Faud I added a larger El-Haramlek Palace to the complex. El-Haramlek has been convered in public museum.
